A Hike and a Visit

me and Franz

A whirlwind last month.  I had a good friend, Kristen, who lived with me last year come visit for a little over a week.  I got to take a day off of work and enjoy some of the old activities we used to do, spend the night at the Hacienda, and just soak up time with an old friend.  It was really good to be around more peers again, too, as I really connected with a few of the girls that came down with Kristen.  What a gift friendships are!

This last Monday, I had the day off work for All Saint's Day, and I went with 5 other friends from church up to some waterfalls near where I live.  It was a perfect escape from daily life.  We made hobo dinners in the fire (ground meat and veggies, wrapped up in foil and put in the coals), and then enjoyed the cool water that wound its way through the narrow canyon.  life has been a little too busy lately, so it was good to get away to the quiet.

I could use your continued prayers for wisdom with the girls I am discipling.   It's a complex situation with each girl, and I often feel completely inadequate, frustrated, and find myself in situations where I make small mistakes and they blow up in my face.  God's got each of them in His hands, and I know ultimately, I just need to entrust them to Him.

But now, this is what the LORD says—
       he who created you, O Jacob,
       he who formed you, O Israel:
       "Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
       I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
 2 When you pass through the waters,
       I will be with you;
       and when you pass through the rivers,
       they will not sweep over you.
       When you walk through the fire,
       you will not be burned;
       the flames will not set you ablaze.
 3 For I am the LORD, your God,
       the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
       I give Egypt for your ransom,
       Cush and Seba in your stead.
 4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
       and because I love you,
       I will give men in exchange for you,
       and people in exchange for your life.

-Isaiah 43:1-4

Nice youtube video presentation! It was amazing/encouraging to see live footage of your "familia en Bolivia" and the many events you've been a part of.
So... I totally rocked out on Is. 43 this afternoon, and then just finished reading your blog, which finishes with those verses - so good! Ciao amiga, Keith
