I know, I know. I already posted about Reading Buddies last year, but it was such a beautiful time this last Friday that I can't help myself.
Usually when the kids are outside, they can't resist playing on the playground and play equipment. Last Friday, almost the entire Center was quietly reading outside! Some were even reading on the play equipment.
One little kindergartener, Sophie, couldn't resist sliding down the slide at least once while her 4th grade buddy, Veronica, read to her:)
4th grader Francisco struggles to read even the most basic words, but managed to read a couple books to his 1st grade buddy, Moisés.
Gheremi, a kindergartener, was sulking in the doorway of his classroom when it was time for him to read with his fourth grade buddies, but halfway through the reading time, he decided he wanted to read with his teacher, Alejandra, and then didn't want to stop!
We had FINALLY received a large order of books from
Better World Books from the beginning of March a few days before, and the kids were excited to read new stories they hadn't seen yet. Without Better World Books, we wouldn't have books for our kids to read, as they provide free international shipping and shipping books any other way is overwhelmingly cost prohibitive. We are so grateful!
